Terms of Service

PixDart is a social game operated by Vestra AI ehf., a company registered in Iceland ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using PixDart you agree to these terms. If we change them in a way that matters, we will bump the version and ask you to accept again in the app.

Who can use PixDart

You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the law where you live sets a higher minimum age for services like this. If you are under the age of majority, you confirm that a parent or guardian has agreed to these terms on your behalf where that is required.

Your account

You sign in through our authentication provider (Clerk) and choose a username. You are responsible for what happens through your account. One account per person; accounts created to evade a suspension or to manipulate duels may be removed.

Your content

You own the photos and comments you create. Photos you take are shown to you; other players see that you found an item but not the photo, except for photos you choose to hang in your town's Gallery, which visitors to your town can see. For everything you create, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free license to host, store, display, distribute, and otherwise use it, including to run PixDart (feeds, duels, leaderboards, notifications, among other features) and, where you have opted in as described in the Privacy Policy, to develop, train, evaluate, and improve software and AI models, ours or our partners'. The Privacy Policy describes how photos and game data are handled when used this way. You must have the rights to anything you submit.

The game

PixDart is built around photo challenges: the app names a real-world target (for example, "a bench") and you photograph it with the camera in the app. Challenges come in several forms, including, among others, a daily item everyone hunts, a collection album of items to find, weekly specials, head-to-head duels against players with a similar trophy count, and a town you build with what your finds earn.
Challenge photos are taken with the camera in the app and judged automatically by an AI vision model. In a duel, the first photo that passes wins trophies from the rival; if only one player passes before the deadline they win, and if neither does the duel is a draw.
Your results, such as the items you find, your completion times, and your points, are visible to other players. The photos behind them are shown to you, and to visitors of your town only when you hang them in its Gallery.
The judge is automated and can occasionally be wrong. You can retry within your attempt limit, and its decisions affect nothing outside the game. If you believe something went badly wrong, contact us.
Trophies, wins, ranks, in-game currencies (such as clay), buildings, decorations, and other in-game items are virtual. They have no monetary value, cannot be sold or redeemed, and may be adjusted or reset by us to correct errors or abuse.
Cheating is prohibited. This includes, among other things, photographing screens or printed pictures, submitting AI-generated or manipulated images, using multiple accounts, and exploiting bugs. We may adjust results, remove trophies, or remove accounts involved.
Game mechanics (matchmaking, judging, scoring, challenges, and the like) may change as the game evolves.

What is not allowed

Among other things, the following is strictly prohibited:

Content that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors in any form (see our Child Safety Standards).
Illegal content or content that promotes illegal acts.
Harassment, threats, hate, or incitement directed at any person or group.
Impersonation of any person or organization.
Spam, scams, malware, or deceptive practices.
Content that infringes someone else's rights.
Automated systems (bots) used to scrape data, post content, or manipulate engagement.

We may remove any content or account that we reasonably consider harmful to the service or its users, whether or not it is listed above.

Our property

Vestra AI ehf. owns all rights to the app itself: the software, brand, name, logos, design, and everything we provide in it other than user content. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute parts of the app without our written permission.

Moderation and limits

Every post and profile can be reported in the app. We may remove content, restrict visibility (including reducing how widely content is shown), suspend, or permanently remove accounts that break these terms, with or without notice depending on severity. To prevent spam and abuse, the number of actions you can perform in a given period (posting, commenting, liking, following, and similar) is limited. To appeal a moderation decision, email vestra@vestra.is.

Subscriptions and purchases

PixDart may offer optional paid subscriptions or purchases. Where offered, the following applies:

The exact name, duration, and price are shown on the purchase screen before you buy, in the currency of your App Store or Google Play account.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when the purchase is confirmed.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; the renewal is charged within 24 hours before the period ends.
You can manage subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal in your App Store or Google Play account settings at any time.
Refunds are handled under Apple's or Google's rules.
What a purchase includes is described on the purchase screen at the time of purchase.

Leaving and deletion

You can delete individual posts or your whole account in the app (Settings). Deleted data is hidden immediately and permanently erased after 30 days; signing back in within that window lets you restore the account. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers and liability

PixDart is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vestra AI ehf. is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of content, trophies, or standing in the game. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Iceland. Disputes arising from them belong to the District Court of Reykjavík (Héraðsdómur Reykjavíkur), unless mandatory consumer law where you live says otherwise.
